Kristina Taylor is offering two 12 day guided tours of traditional and modern gardens, in Japan. She is a garden historian and journalist, and she will be leading all the tours with the help of a Japanese speaking guide. Spaces are limited so please book early.
Leaving in Spring 2010 is designed for guests who have some knowledge of the gardens of Japan. It will explore the lesser known aspects of Japanese Garden design. Knowledge of Japanese culture and design ideals are not necessary, but for those who already have an interest it will be more appealing. We shall be visiting Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Matsue, Osaka and Nara.
Leaving in October 2010 this tour is designed for first time visitors to Japan and Japanese gardens to give the guests an introduction to Japan's culture and their seminal gardens. This will include visits to temples, stroll gardens and museums. It will allow the visitor to experience the amazing culture and food. We shall be based in Kyoto and take day trips to the Miho museum, Uji and Nara, and There will also be the opportunity to join an add on tour. This will take us over the Inland sea to Takamatsu on the Island of Shikkoku.
